Tara Sharif, PhD, MBA is a healthcare and life sciences investment banker and a prior life scientist. As an academician, she spent 11 years of cancer and inflammatory mediators research at Cornell Medical College, followed by 17 years of investment banking and executive management at Arthur Andersen Corporate Finance LLP, Maxim Group LLC, RXi Pharmaceuticals and WestPark Capital. Tara has also served as financial and strategic consultant to a number of biotechnology corporations and served on the external advisory board of Long Island Bioscience Hub. Tara is currently serving as the interim CEO of the start-up stem cell company, Tarachon. Dr. Sharif holds an M.B.A. in Finance from Fordham University (Beta Gamma Sigma and Omicron Delta Epsilon) and a Ph.D. in Developmental and Cellular Biology from Southern Illinois University.
